Managed EU Drift

Managed operations in a Swedish data center – compliance built in

We run your Linux, Windows and container environments with patching, backup and 24/7 monitoring. You get an SLA, a named contact and NIS2 reporting – with no infrastructure of your own to worry about.

24/7 monitoring SLA Named contact 🇸🇪 Swedish support

What is managed operations?

With self-managed hosting you get a server – the rest is your problem: patching, backup, monitoring, incidents at 3 a.m. With managed operations we own the entire problem, with an SLA and a named contact. You focus on your applications.

Platforms

Linux, Windows & containers

Operations of Linux and Windows servers as well as container environments (Docker/Kubernetes) in our Swedish data center – or hybrid against your own equipment.

Maintenance

Patching & backup

Scheduled security patching with change windows, verified backups with defined retention and regular restore tests.

Monitoring

24/7 monitoring

Proactive monitoring of availability, capacity and security events – with an alert chain and response around the clock.

What's included in the operations – in detail

Four areas we handle for you, every month, documented.

System maintenance

You never have to wonder "are we patched?"

  • Critical security patches within 24h, others monthly in change windows
  • Kernel updates with planned reboots for minimal impact
  • Firmware – BIOS, network cards and storage kept up to date
  • Baseline security per CIS benchmark on all systems
Backup & DR

Data is never lost

  • Daily automatic backup every night
  • Geographic redundancy – storage in the air-raid shelter + external site
  • RTO < 1 hour for restoring an entire system
  • RPO < 24 hours – max one day of data loss in the worst case
  • Restore test every 6 months – we know the restore works
Monitoring

We see the problem before you do

  • Server health – CPU, RAM, disk, network latency
  • Application health – log files can be monitored for errors and exceptions
  • Security – unknown IP addresses, brute force attempts, anomalous traffic
  • Uptime report – daily status of system health
Compliance

Auditors get what they need

  • Monthly report – all security measures documented
  • NIS2 documentation for compliance audits
  • Incident log – what happened and how it was handled
  • GDPR support – help answering data protection questions

What's not included in the standard agreement

  • Application updates – your code is your (or your development team's) responsibility
  • Database tuning – we provide recommendations, optimization is quoted separately
  • Network changes – performed on request, not included on an ongoing basis
  • Custom security policies – we follow best practice; special configuration is an add-on

Why managed operations with us

Predictable monthly cost

Recurring model with no surprises. No investments in your own hardware, no emergency consulting hours when something goes wrong.

No infrastructure headaches

We own the problem end to end – hardware, virtualization, OS and operations. You focus on your business and your applications.

Swedish support

Support in Swedish, from engineers who know your environment. No ticket roulette to anonymous call centers in other time zones.

Compliance pack

Compliance is not an add-on with us – it's built into the delivery.

NIS2 incident reporting

  • Incident process adapted to NIS2's reporting requirements (24h/72h windows)
  • Logging and traceability for forensics and regulatory reporting
  • Documentation for your CISO – we deliver what you need for your own reporting

Data residency

  • All data in Sweden – our own data center in an air-raid shelter, no third-country transfers
  • Swedish legal entity as provider – out of reach of the CLOUD Act
  • Documented data handling as evidence for your GDPR and DORA audits

SLA & named contact

You should always know what to expect – and who to call.

Availability 99.5% uptime guaranteed, higher levels by agreement
Response time Max 4h response time for critical incidents, around the clock
Named contact Dedicated technical contact person who knows your environment – no anonymous queue
Reporting Monthly compliance report with availability, incidents, patch status and capacity trend

Managed operations vs. doing it yourself – what does it really cost?

In-house operations look cheap until you factor in staff, tooling and the risk of what doesn't get done.

In-house operations (DIY)Managed EU Drift
Cost over 5 years
(typical environment, 10–20 VMs)
SEK 3–5 million – at least one full-time engineer (~SEK 1 million/year incl. overheads) + tooling, backup infrastructure and continued training SEK 0.7–1.4 million – fixed monthly cost (SEK 12,000/mo = SEK 720,000 over 5 years for Tier 2)
Patching Done "when there's time" – in practice, critical patches are missed during vacations and peak load Critical patches within 24h, contracted and documented – every month, year round
Nighttime incidents Your engineer gets woken up – or nobody does and your customers notice first 24/7 on-call with alert chain included, max 4h resolution time for critical incidents
Backup verification The backup "should work" – restores are rarely or never tested Restore test every 6 months, RTO < 1h documented
Compliance documentation Scraped together manually before every audit – days of work Monthly compliance report generated continuously – ready when the auditor asks
Key-person dependency All knowledge with one person – who can resign Team with documented procedures + named contact

Case study: fintech with zero security incidents in 2 years

The same anonymized customer as in our migration case study – this is what happened after the move.

Before: self-managed on AWS

  • One developer spent ~25% of their time on operations instead of product
  • Critical patches sometimes lagged several weeks
  • Two incidents per year that reached customers, one with 6 hours of downtime
  • Compliance documentation was built manually before every bank audit

After: Managed EU Drift (Tier 2)

  • 0 security incidents reaching customers in 24 months
  • 99.96% measured availability – above the SLA level
  • Developer time reclaimed – operations cost SEK 12,000/mo instead of a quarter of a developer's salary
  • Bank audit in hours instead of days – the monthly reports sufficed as evidence

Who is Managed EU Drift for?

Our customers have one thing in common: operations are business-critical but not their core business.

SaaS companies & fintechs

You sell software, not operations. Your customers impose compliance requirements (NIS2, DORA, data residency) that you must be able to prove – without building your own operations team.

Businesses with small IT teams

1–3 people handle everything from support to servers. We take the servers, you take the business – and your key person can actually go on vacation.

Organizations under regulatory requirements

Healthcare, energy, public sector and their suppliers. NIS2 reporting, documented patching and auditable logs are included in the base delivery.

What you get in the monthly report

  • Availability – measured uptime per system against SLA
  • Patch status – which updates were applied and when
  • Incidents – what happened, action taken and root cause
  • Capacity trend – disk, CPU and memory over time, with forecast
  • Backup status – completed backups and latest restore test
  • Compliance attestation – documentation ready for the auditor

How the onboarding works

From contract to full operations in 2–3 weeks – with no interruption to your business.

Security & incident management

Operations are only as good as the security work behind them.

Standards

Structured security work

Our security work follows ISO 27001 principles: documented procedures, least-privilege access control and an annual review of the entire security program.

Testing

Penetration testing

The infrastructure is penetration tested annually by an external party. Critical findings are remediated within the agreed time and summarized in your compliance report.

Incidents

Incident response plan

Documented process: detect → isolate → remediate → report. Critical incidents are escalated directly to your contact person, with NIS2 reporting documentation within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions about managed operations

Do our systems have to be in your data center for you to operate them?

No. Most customers run in our Swedish data center, but we also operate hybrid environments against your own equipment. However, you get the full compliance effect (data residency in an air-raid shelter) when the systems are hosted with us.

What counts as a critical incident – and what happens then?

Critical incident = production system down or suspected security breach. Then a max 4-hour response time applies around the clock, direct escalation to your named contact and NIS2 reporting documentation within 24 hours.

Can we terminate the agreement – are we locked in?

The standard agreement runs with a 3-month notice period. Your data is always yours – at termination we export systems and backups in standard formats and assist with the handover to your new operations partner.

How quickly is a critical vulnerability patched?

Critical security patches (actively exploited CVEs) are applied within 24 hours, if needed with an emergency change window coordinated with your contact person. Other updates are handled monthly.

What does it cost to get started?

Onboarding is included in the monthly cost with a 12-month agreement – no setup fees for typical environments. If you have just migrated with us (EU Cloud Migration), your environment is already documented and onboarding takes days instead of weeks.

Can you operate our databases and Kubernetes clusters too?

Yes. Managed database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and container orchestration are included from Tier 2. We handle the infrastructure and platform – your applications and your code remain your responsibility.
